Goals from Alan, Khairul and John sealed the points for the Oranje who move up to fourth spot for the first time this season.
Newton Heath reversed their recent two defeats on the trot with a thumping 5-2 win against Happyfeet FC at Marsiling secondary. The Penguins, who are perennially understaffed with a lack of players, have enjoyed relative success in the EFL Cup but remain rooted near the foot of the table in the league.
In the Premier Division, Champions South Buona Vista Saints’ faint hopes of retaining their title all but vanished as they succumbed 3-0 to Club M at a very wet AR-JAS. The Saints will feel hard done by as their season is coming apart at the very seams, having been dumped out of the EFL Cup in the Quarter finals by Qualifying Division side Happyfeet, leaving them with the title as their only chance of silverware this term.
In EFL Cup action, holders Siglap CSC progressed to the semi-finals courtesy of a 2-0 win in Bedok over Titans NFC to record a 3-1 aggregate win over two legs. Siglap will meet either of Questra Vipers or Highlander FT in the semi-finals, with British Club and Happyfeet already confirming their status as the other semi-finalists of this year’s competition.
