D2D Sunday 9am League Round-Up

OPOD News Center - With another rainy Sunday morning, several games were postponed due to the inclement weather. Once again, just like the week before, the game for Galatico Empire in Division 3 managed to get underway despite the wrath of the skies.

Tipped as a potential title deciding game, Galatico Empire and Chinatown FC played out a drab 0-0 draw. No goals, no yellow cards, no red cards; a match so free of incidents that onlookers will struggle to believe this is a game between the top 2 in the table. Perhaps the cool, wet weather had put out the flames that were meant to be.

Division 1: Battle of the new promotes

In Division 1, the only game that got going was the one between 2 newly promoted teams, VOFM and Euphoric Espada FC. Unlike the sole game in Div 3, this game saw sparks fly as the teams traded blows furiously against one another. The game eventually finished 3-3.

Division 2: Torpedo continues unbeaten streak

This division saw 2 games take off and very different stories were told for the respective games. League leaders Torpedo Rovers came up against winless bottom of the table Club De Futbol and the result was on the cards even before the match was played. 9-0 was the final scoreline, a majestic win and the Rovers extends their unbeaten run to 8 games.

Marine Devil's good form came screeching to a halt in their match against Team Poom. Also winless before Sunday, few have expected Team Poom to come out of the game with any spoils. A spirited performance saw them clinch an impressive 3-1 victory over Marine Devil and are now lifted out of the automatic relegation zone.
