D2D Sunday 9am League Weekly Preview
OPOD News Center - In Division 1, champions Nautical FC meets Gloucester Rangers in a replay of the championship play-off match last season, where both teams had finished the league equal on points and goal difference. While Nautical came up tops in that crunch match which decided the title, Gloucester Rangers are the ones faring much better this season. Definitely a much awaited match for the Rangers where they will seek to avenge last season's cruel loss.
Division 2: Rested Refugees meets Rejuvenated Team Poom
This is Refugees' first competitive game in 4 weeks after some enforced rest due to adverse weather conditions causing game cancellations. With Team Poom all charged up after last weekend's win over title challengers Marine Devils, another upset could be on the cards. A lack of match sharpness could prove detrimental to the Refugees' game and anything less than a win may effectively kill their hopes of challenging high-flying Torpedo Rangers for the title.
Marine Devils will look to rebound from last weekend's loss to Team Poom against table proppers Club De Futbol. Torpedo Rangers have a tricky tie against 4th placed A2 FC and will be seeking a win to consolidate their pole position in the league.
Division 3: Stern test for league leaders
League leaders Galatico Empire face Morning Glory FC this weekend. Although MGFC are in 3rd position, they have dropped the least points in the league having won 4 and drew 1 of their 5 league games in their campaign so far. Should GEFC have any title ambitions, they will have to go for a win as a draw is simply not enough.
Chinatown FC is the only other unbeaten team in the division and they will come up against Bo Chap FC; a team that has blown hot and cold this season having won, drawn and lost 2 games in their campaign.
Midland Wolves FC and Phoenix FC will be looking to break their losing streak against Hougang North and Ace Galaxy respectively. Neither team have secured a point this season and need to break the duck soon for any hope of climbing the table.
