ESPZEN Round-up: Team Frankel edges closer to the Division 7 title

OPOD News Centre – Team Frankel is edging closer to the Division 7 title having picked up their ninth victory in a 3-1 win against Poseur United FC. Midfield maestro Jovan Reagan gave the league leaders the lead inside 25 minutes by notching the opening goal. Lim Duo Duo restored parity for Poseur United FC in the 55th minutes but flamboyant forward Tan Kian Tiong gave Team Frankel the lead again by scoring the second goal. Eventually, Aloysius Chew ensured Team Frankel come away with maximum points by converting their third goal.

DHL FC kept their title hopes alive by overcoming Olympique Singapore FC 4-3 in a pulsating seven goal thriller. With a game in hand, DHL FC is trailing Team Frankel by four points. Northwest Spartans FC is two points away from the safety zone having New Team FC 5-4. James Cook University Singapore FC’s promotion hopes is diminishing as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat against ESPZEN Jaws SC.

In Division 1, Racing FC failed to bounce back into winning ways having clinched a point in a 1-1 draw against ESPZEN PROTÉGÉ. Armanis FC moved to within two points of Racing FC having claimed a morale boosting 2-1 win against reigning champions SCC Tigers FC. Tusser Ranger avenged their 1-0 defeat against Fighting Cocks FC previously by defeating the latter with a 2-0 win. Hibernians FC is determined to avoid relegation this season having trounced Barbarians FC 4-1.

In Division 2, Aioli United FC captured pole position on the top by edging past Central Park FC 4-2. Gabrielite Remix FC slipped to second place having dropped two points in a 2-2 draw against Tuan Gemuk Athletic FC.
In Division 3, Nasrin FC extended their lead to ten points by defeating MATADOR FC 3-1. The Usual Suspects FC failed to move out of the relegation zone having succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against FC Socheaux. Barclays Capital FC jumped to third place by trouncing Team Prodigy FC 4-0.

In Division 4, Andernese FC remained rooted in the bottom of the table having suffered a 6-1 defeat against Singapore Vikings FC. Eastern Vale FC claimed pole position on the top by defeating Suave Fusion FC 3-1. Team H FC consolidated second place by securing a 2-0 win against VNNTU FC. Hibernians Social FC kept their title hopes alive by mauling Los Diablos FC 8-1.

In Division 5, FC MYK is closing in on the league title by clinching a 3-3 draw against Singapore Pirates FC. In Division 6, Deportivo Singapura put up an outstanding performance to hand ESPZEN Primero FC a 2-1 defeat which ended their six month unbeaten run. R.A.B II FC is confident of capturing a third place finish having thrashed Vincitore FC 4-0.

In Division 8, unstoppable Swat FC extended their unbeaten streak to ten games by easing past ESPZEN Gogooryo FC 7-0. Assumption United FC is 4 points away from the safety zone having succumbed to 2-1 defeat against Maestro FC. Ishkawa FC remains in the hunt for the promotion berth by trouncing Viper FC 4-1.

In Division 9, Purple Monkeys FC maintained pole position on the top having crushed Club Funky Futbol 5-1. Team Spirit FC kept their survival hopes alive by cruising past Royals FC 3-0. In the lower tiers, Lorong United FC landed the Division 10 league title by brushing aside Homewest United FC 9-0. White Wolfton FC extended their unbeaten run to ten games having salvaged a 5-5 draw against Westlanders United in Division 11. Subbuteo FC bagged their seventh win by defeating NTUC Income FC 8-3 in Division 12.     

In the ESPZEN Saturday League, Team Intense FC consolidated second place following their 3-1 win against St Andrews FC in Division 1. Greats II FC ended a five match winless streak by edging past Standard Chatered Bank FC 1-0. Tuan Gemuk Athletic Social FC bagged their fifth win by defeating Meridian Generations FC 3-1.

In Division 2, SUFI FC maintained pole position on the top with a 2-0 win over Supernova FC. Fake Madrid FC claimed their fifth straight victory in a 5-1 trouncing over Real Ale Madrid FC. TeamCuzz FC moved to within a point of SUFI FC by crushing Premier FC 5-0.

In Division 3, AANG Wolf FC failed to extend their lead on the top having slipped to a 2-0 defeat against El Retador FC. FC Hospitality moved to third place with a 3-1 win against Sporting TGA FC. In Division 4, Big Belly FC bagged six win out of six by overcoming H4 United FC 2-0. Figli Della Pistola FC picked up their second win by defeating Oldz Boyz FC 3-1.    

In the ESPZEN Midweek League, Agave Allstars FC regained pole position on the top by defeating Eastern Thunderbolt Galaxy FC 4-1. Hibernians Academicals FC continued their rich vein of form by thrashing Midweek Pirates FC 5-0. Indomitable Lions FC recovered from their 5-3 defeat against Tanah Merah previously by edging past DB FC 4-2.
