ESPZEN Round-up: Racing FC ends SCC Tigers' winning spell since June with massive win

OPOD News Centre – Racing FC ended SCC Tigers winning spell of three games since June as they trounced the reigning champions 5-1 in Division 1. Although SCC Tigers dominated ball possession with their offensive style of play, British striker Todd Koning gave Racing FC the lead after 15 minutes. Nevertheless, SCC Tigers brought the scoreline back to 1-1 courtesy of an equalizer in the first half.

Racing FC restored their lead within the opening minutes of the second period when Japanese Takahiro Udagawa converted the second goal with a sublime finish. This led to a wonderful 15 minute spell in the midst of the second half for Racing FC when Todd Koning and Takahiro Udagawa grabbed a brace each while Esad Sedjic was also on the scoresheet to wrap up a sensational win for the former League of Champions representative.

Armanis FC is two points away from safety after picking up an excellent 4-1 win over Hibernians Athletic FC in the bottom of the table clash. In Division 2, Tusser Ranger FC was delighted to pick up a shocking win against Nasrin FC with the scoreline of 1-0, keeping their survival hopes alive in the process.

Bottom side YDM UTD FC failed to close the gap on FC Venom in the relegation battle as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the latter. Tuan Gemuk Athletic FC is occupying second place based on their superior goal difference record after dropping points in their 3-2 defeat to Barbarians FC while Fighting Cocks FC consolidated fourth place by salvaging a 1-1 draw against Admiralz FC.

In Division 3, Singapore Vikings FC is a point away from landing the title as they picked up their ninth win against FC Socheaux with a scoreline of 5-0. Barclays Capital FC is closing in on Eastern Vale FC for the promotion berth by defeating Hibernians Social FC 1-0. With Singapore Pirates FC slipping to a 2-2 draw against The Usual Suspects FC, FC MYK is holding a five point lead in Division 4’s title race thanks to a 3-1 win over Raptors FC.

In Division 5, ESPZEN Primero FC clinched their tenth win courtesy of a 2-1 win against Deportivo Singapura while Andernese FC and FC El Leon shared the spoils in a goalless stalemate in the bottom of the table clash. In Division 6, Swat FC jumped to fourth place after hitting six goals past AC United FC while DHL FC overcame a tenacious Outlander Smurfs FC 1-0.

With Purple Monkeys FC succumbing to a 1-0 defeat to Poseur United FC, White Wolfton FC maintained pole position on the top by edging ESPZEN Gogooryo FC 4-2 in Division 7. In Division 8, Warriorz Vege FC is holding on to a slender lead of three points over Pakiyoko FC in the title battle after defeating Subbuteo FC 3-1 while New Olympique Singapore FC landed their fourth win by overcoming Lorong United FC 2-0.

In Division 9, Futbolistas FC bagged nine wins out of wins courtesy of a 4-1 win over Royals FC while Chap Pah Lang FC are setting their sights on the promotion berth after defeating Killer Whales FC 5-1. In Division 10, Team Spirit FC maintained their lead on the top by edging Tiqui-taca Admiralty FC 6-5 while KPMG FC piled on the pressure on the league leaders by defeating Westlanders United 2-1.

In the lower tiers, Kebun Baru FC is holding on to their slim title hopes in Division 11 by trouncing Next Team FC 6-1 while Combine United claimed their seventh victory in a 2-0 win over MILF FC in Division 12.

In the ESPZEN Saturday League, YSOSRS FC recovered from their 2-0 defeat to TeamCuzz FC by handing Supernova FC their fourth defeat in a 2-0 win in Division 1 while Greats II FC failed to claim pole position on the top as they were held to a 3-3 draw by TeamCuzz FC in Division 1. In Division 2, El Retador FC bagged five wins out of five with a 8-2 win over Sporting TGA FC while Sengkang Rangers FC landed their first win by trouncing FC Hospitality 4-1.

In the lower tiers, Big Belly FC edged Premier FC 1-0 to hold a slender lead of a single point on the top of Division 3 while Eclectico FC picked up their fifth straight win by defeating Bakar E FC 2-1 in Division 4.

In the ESPZEN Midweek League, Screaming Irish FC and Hibernians Academicals FC maintained their hundred percent winning record after defeating the likes of Indomitable Lions FC and Nagoya Grampus FC with the respective scorelines of 1-0 and 5-1.
