OPOD News Centre – It was a five-star performance from SCC Firsts in front of goal as the reigning champions got off to a good start in the brand new season of the Cosmo League courtesy of a 5-0 win over Hibernians FC on their home soil. Andrew Hutcheon and AJ Cyrille proved too hot for the Hibernians’ backline to handle as the striking duo notched home a goal each, giving SCC Firsts a 3-0 lead in the first half. Although SCC Firsts failed to maintain their high tempo on the attacking third after the interval, forward James Kilbee managed to get himself on the scoresheet while Dutch midfielder Jamie Saarloos made an instantaneous impact from the bench by converting the fifth goal for the reigning champions.
German All Stars Singapore also got off to a winning start when Ronnie Nock secured a hat trick to hand the former maximum points in a 4-3 win against a tenacious Red Rock FC. A brace by forward Alex Cruz was sufficient for Swiss FC to see off Rangers FC in a 3-1 win.
