OPOD News Centre – Westlanders United kept their survival hopes alive by edging Liberty Spirits FC 2-1 in Division 9. Exuberant striker Reshibalan was firing on all cylinders as he grabbed a brace to hand his side a much needed victory to keep themselves three points away from the safety zone. Coincidentally, Kebun Baru United consolidated fourth place after netting a 2-1 win against Philippine FC(SG).
In Division 1, Nasrin FC are still in the running for an excellent finish in the top two thanks to a 2-0 win over Gabrielite Remix FC. Armanis FC failed to reduce Aioli United’s lead in the title race as they were held to a 2-2 draw by the league leaders in the top of the table clash.
In Division 2, FC Venom recovered from their defeat to Greats FC previously by hitting four goals past Singapore Vikings FC whilst Barbarians FC moved into third place courtesy of a 2-1 win against Greats FC. In Division 3, The Usual Suspects FC landed their fifth win by edging Central Park FC 5-3. In Division 4, Benedetto United moved out of the relegation zone after earning a morale boosting 3-2 win against Vincitore FC. Holland Park XI were pleased to hand ESPZEN Primero FC their first defeat as they overcame the league leaders 2-1.
In Division 5, James Cook University FC sealed the title in sensational style as they trounced Team Frankel 5-0. In Division 6, Swat FC closed in on Purple Monkeys FC in the title battle by claiming maximum points in a 4-1 win over Andernese FC. In Division 7, Futbolistas FC are a win away from securing the league title after earning a 3-0 rout over AC United FC. In Division 8, New Olympique Singapore FC failed to overtake Entertainers FC in the title race as they succumbed to a 3-2 defeat to the league leaders in the top of the table clash.
In the lower tiers, with two games in hand, Goodanx Brigades FC are in a favourable position in the title battle after Homewest United FC 2-0 in Division 10. Project Intensify FC remained on top of Division 11 based on their superior goal difference record as they cruised past Ba Da Bing Ba Da Bong FC 7-1 whilst APFC extended their lead over KIK FC to 9 points after hitting a solitary goal past Silver Titans FC in Division 12.
In the ESPZEN Saturday League, an irresistible Fake Madrid registered their second consecutive victory in December by edging YSOSRS FC 3-1 in Division 1 whilst FC Hospitality also emulated the Division 1 league leaders’ feat by defeating Team Goat FC 2-0 in Division 2. In Division 3, Phoenix FC bagged four wins out of four after overcoming AC Fate FC 2-1. In the lower tiers, H4 United moved out of the relegation zone thanks to a 4-3 win against Premier FC in Division 4.
In the ESPZEN Midweek League, VFA FC captured their seventh win by edging Agave Allstars 3-2.
