Football OPOD will be bringing all you football fans a regular feature on the players in our S-League and to kick things off, we have former Arsenal youth player Rhema Obed who is currently with Geylang United after impressing at this year's centralised trials in the hot seat to share with you a bit more about himself!

Hi Rhema, please describe your playing style
I'm an aggressive, strong, powerful, technical defensive player
As a defender from the Arsenal academy, is there a role model you look up to? Tony Adams? Sol Campbell? Or Pascal Cygan….please include why.
Growing up in the youth team at a younger age I looked up to Kolo Toure
and followed him when he move to man city. We play similar and have similar
built but I would describe myself more versatile than him.
Jack Wilshire, what is the trick to defend against him? Just in case Singapore plays England in the next World Cup.
Watch the ball and not his feet nor body movement
Can you please give us more defending tips?
A great defender focuses on winning the ball rather than the man. Body
stance must have a low sense of gravity and communications with fellow team
mates is key.
Who was the toughest player you’ve played against?
I was fortunate enough to train with Cesc Fabregas during my time at
Arsenal he never loses the ball
We can’t help but notice the similarities between you and Antonio Valencia, are you guys in anyway related?
No relation maybe our crossing technique have some similarities
We’ve been to the Emirates a couple of times already and all the burger stalls taste the same….any recommendations for the best food outside the stadium since you stay nearby?
You will have to travel into the city for quality food
What about your favourite local dish here?
I've forgotten the name but it is red fried reddish with Singapore
fried rice
Where are the fans most likely to run into you in Singapore?
Church of God in Bedok
British curry or Singapore curry?
British curry
