EFL News Centre – Gaelic Lions reached the top of the EFL Premiership for the first time this season after clinically disposing of Titans NFC in Saturday’s fixture at the Kallang Practise Track. The Lions have been in imperious form of late, and will go into next week’s showdown with reigning champions Vipers buoyed by their recent good form that has seen them go 11 matches unbeaten since November last year.
Singapore Vipers FC got back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win against MDIS to move back into third place, leapfrogging Hibernians United who did not play on the weekend. Tuan Gemuk Athletic were the winners of a nine goal thriller against Pulau Ubin FC at Tanglin Trust School, in a match that will stay in the memory for some time to come. The win sees TGA end Ubin’s recent green patch on their home turf, while catapulting themselves off the foot of the table.
There was no goal feast like earlier in the season when British Club First XI took on South Buona Vista Saints in EFL Premiership’s oldest derby rivalry. Both teams were made to share the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate at East Spring secondary school. Elsewhere, SCC Strollers were awarded a 3-0 walkover against ANZA Young Lions at Dempsey.
