It’s been a great turn around year for the Rangers but we are currently limping to a painful finish. In the last few weeks, for various reasons, we’ve gone from having 20 quality players each Saturday down to the bare bones. It was no different against Vikings when we had to bring back 3 players out of retirement to make up the 11.
When we arrived at the Tampines pitch to see the Germans & Latini sides coated in mud, we knew it would be like playing in a drenched cow paddock. Rangers players put in a spirited effort the entire game but to be fair the Vikings deserved this one. In fact, if not for poor finishing (admittingly lots of bobbles) from the Vikings & some great saves from Pepe, the scoreline could have been much worse. There were some nervy moments for the Vikings as Rangers fought back from 3-0 to 3-2 & from 4-2 to 4-3 but each time this happened we conceded almost immediately.
Hopefully we’ll get a few of our regulars back for the last game of the season against ze Germans. MOM for Rangers goes to Gura & no.10 for the Vikings.
