After their worst ever start to a season, SAFFC have found themselves back on track after three consecutive 1-0 wins. They will look to carry on that run of victories against strugglers Geylang United, who have collected only one point from their last three games.

The Warriors, despite not playing the most attractive football on display, have gotten the results they needed and that has seen them surge up to seventh spot, just a point being Albirex Niigata(S). In those three wins, the form of Shahril Jantan have been crucial. The goalkeeper kept the scores level on numerous occasions and a similar effort will be required against the Eagles.

Mislav Karoglan though will undoubtedly be the main man. The Croat scored two of those three winning goals and while he may not have scored against Gombak the last time out, he did have a hand in setting up the goal.

On the other hand, Geylang United will be hoping for an improvement in fortunes. Despite the heroic performances of captain and goalkeeper Yazid Yasin, they have found wins hard to come by. A positive though, has been the emergence of prime league players Basil Teo and Amy Recha. Providing bags of energy, they have put in some eye-catching performances, especially Amy, who is fast becoming a supersub.

Michael King and Jozef Kaplan will still be the key players for Geylang. Both foreign imports are the top scorers and will once again be tasked to break down what is a very leaky SAFFC defence, although three clean sheets on the trot for the Warriors indicate that they have steadied the ship lately.

Geylang last five games: LWLDL

Prediction: It will be hard to see an upset here, despite SAFFC’s history of struggles against Geylang United. The Warriors will finally break their duck of 1-0 wins here, with a 2-0 scoreline.
