Safra Tampines - The FAA June Holiday Clinic conducted over the week by former French International, Olivier Dacourt was well-received by both FAA Students and the public alike.
After an encouraging introduction by their coach for the day, all students were put through a series of skills tests and were individually observed by Olivier himself. The participants were motivated and excited to perform to their level best in front of their coach, who was part of the 1998 France World Cup team.
Apart from giving comments and tips on how to improve their footballing skills, Coach Olivier often took it upon himself to demonstrate some of the skills and techniques. The students were impressed with his effortless performance on the ball and strived to get to that level in the future.
With the skills tests completed, the students were most looking forward to playing a 7-a side game. To make the game interesting, there was an addition of two more players – Coach Olivier and Coach Fandi!
The students were thrilled with the thought of playing with their coaches. Taking up the position of a goalkeeper, both coaches were in –charge of preventing the ball from going into the net. In a game with many twists and turns, teams emerged with a draw as they shared the spoils.
Olivier ended the clinic with an inspirational speech and handed out the certificate of participations to the kids. Students and parents rushed to take pictures with Coach Olivier as the evening ended.
