Dongshin and Cochise Kings out of EFL
Reported by: EFL

In an announcement set to rock the amateur football scene, two Equatorial Football League Premier Division teams have been kicked out of the league due to various disciplinary problems.

The first to be asked to leave is FC Dongshin, a Korean side which has only joined the EFL in the current season. Perhaps due to the lack of a proper initiation into EFL's management system, Dongshin has failed to comply to several of the league's matchday requirements. Despite several warnings from the organizing committee, some of the Koreans have continued to turn up at games without proper footballing attire. This included the wearing of singlets and ankle socks while on the pitch; and non-wearing of shinguards.

"Dongshin had been given several warnings but the players' refusal to comply to league regulations have left us with no choice but to ask them to leave the league," said Chief Organizer Eugene Wee grimly.

"I even had a player who came up to me and said he used to play in the S-League and that there is no such regulation that shinguards are compulsory," he continued. "That really left me speechless"

A second team to be asked to leave is Cochise Kings. The Kings have had a brilliant start to the season, winning the first four of their league games, but lost for the first time to Olympique Gaulois over the weekend. Things turned nasty after the game when the assistant manager confronted Wee.

"We had a situation with the pitch bookings at Bukit Timah Field," explained Wee. "The pitch operator had made a mistake and double booked the 3pm slots."

"Thankfully, we came to a compromise with all the teams agreeing to play a shorter match, kickoff at 3pm and handover the pitch back to Peter at 4:15pm, which will make 35 minutes a half," continued Wee.

After the final whistle was blown, it was Cochise 0-1 Olympique Gaulois. Cochise's assistant manager flew into a rage and went over to Wee, demanding for a rematch as he said the referee ended the game only after 30 minutes in the 2nd half. Tapping Wee on the face and poking his finger right in Wee's face, he spoke in a threatening and disgraceful manner in front of many onlookers, clearly spoiling for a fight.

"It was absolutely uncalled for. He even went to the extent to say he'll throw money in my face for a rematch," said Wee.

"This is not the first time where Cochise Kings behaved in an absolutely unacceptable manner."

"Any form of violence will not be tolerated by EFL and we regretably have removed Cochise Kings from our league as it has been deemed impossible for the league to keep them under control."

This latest shake-up leaves the EFL Premier Division with only 9 teams and the number of league matches to be played this season will be reduced from 20 to 16.
