OPOD News Centre – Premier Division giants British Club First XI became the first side this season to take points off Sofeene FC, holding the free scoring side to a 1-1 draw at Bukit Timah Field on Saturday.
In the only other Premier Division match to take place over the weekend, defending champions South Buona Vista Saints hammered Kool N the Gang 6-1 at AR-JAS Sports Centre to move up to fourth spot in the table.
In Qualifying Division action, league leaders Questra Vipers trounced MDIS 5-0 at AR-JAS to create a 7 point gap at the top, with closest rivals JSSL Arsenal having 3 games in hand on the Vipers for the automatic promotion spot. Schwarz Star were denied 3 points when a last gasp penalty for Happyfeet forced them to settle for a solitary point. Elsewhere, British Club 2nd XI narrowly overcame bottom side Rampant Lions 1-0 to leapfrog the Super Falcons into fourth spot in the table.
In the EFL Cup, D2D outfit Highlanders were held to a high scoring 3-3 draw by Hibernians United in the first leg of their round of 16 encounter, while JSSL Arsenal made their passage to the next round complete after overcoming Newton Heath by the same scoreline when they met earlier this season, winning 4-1.
