OPOD News Center - The SCC Firsts claimed the title of the "Best Singapore Amateur Football Team" after winning the inaugural League Of Champions by defeating fellow Cosmo League team Casuals FC 2-0 in a high tempo finals at the Jalan Besar Stadium. Racing FC did ESPZEN proud by holding NFL Div 1 runners-up Eunos Crescent FC to a 1-1 draw and then winning the penalty shoot out 8-7 to emerge 2nd runners-up in the League of Champions. GAFL is like a miniature league of the ESPZEN. but not even close. The GAFL website could certainly be improved with timely scored updates and much more entertaining match reports. The look of the website is not that appealing, perhaps GAFL organisers could drop by the games, snap some shots, record a after game or half time interview with 1 or 2 players etc to bring in more content for the league website. Pitch quality so far is not up to standard. But it isnt poor either. Just don't drop standard can already. Referee quality certainly needs to be improved. There are only 1 or 2 exceptionl referees doing a good job. The rest are just either not experienced enough or passed their referee course with some luck.
