In an open email to all EFL participants, EFL Chief Organizer spoke about the lack of EFL fixtures in March and April, and his god like prediction of the wet weather during this period:
Afternoon Gentlemen
In January, I have informed all teams that there will be holes in EFL fixtures from late March till mid April due to the lightning season. Quite accurately, it has started. There is a thunder storm brewing as I am typing this email. Yes, I am a guru. Offer me another 2 more tigers and I can predict your future.
During this period, without fail, Zues and Fulgora will exhibit their best display of lights and sound. This happens every season and the timing is usually from 3pm-6pm.
This week, venues that have their friendlies and league matches affected by the weather are:
1) Bukit Timah F1
2) Bukit Timah F3
3) Henderson Sec on Sat
4) Henderson Sec on Sun
5) AR-JAS
6) Mayflower Secondary
7) 163 Bedok South had lightning towards the end of the match
Of course I would prefer to have matches every weekend as it gives me an excuse to watch 'live' football and get drunk, and it pays EFL staff allowances as well. To be fair and honest, we do not see the point of having players turning up at the pitch, wasting time and transportation, just to pack up their soiled gear and have the rest of the day ruin.
During the next 2-3 weeks:
Those who are parents, please spend more time with your family.
Those who are married, please make more babies.
Those who are attached, please make more love.
Those who are single, please... er... please... guys, this fella needs help!!!
An advice to those who are arranging their own friendlies, make it clear with the organisers of any charges if the match is called off BEFORE and AFTER kickoff. You won't want to turn up, not kicking a single ball but end up payig for the ref transportation.
I thank you for your time and understanding. I hope everyone enjoys the next few weekends with their loved ones.
